India’s star shuttler PV Sindhu will not play in the Badminton World Championships. She has been ruled out of the tournament due to an ankle injury. Sindhu recently won gold in women’s singles at the Commonwealth Games and later revealed that she had competed in the final despite the injury.
It is believed that due to injury, Sindhu did not attend the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) honor ceremony held in Delhi. The IOA had organized a felicitation ceremony for the medal winners in the Commonwealth Games.
The Badminton World Championships will begin on August 21. The tournament will run till August 28. Sindhu has a stellar record in the world championships. She won the gold medal in 2019. He has also won two silver medals and two bronze medals in this tournament.
Sindhu was one of the flag bearers of India at the Commonwealth Games. She won gold in women’s singles as well as a silver medal in mixed team event. This was Sindhu’s second gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Earlier in 2018, he won gold in the mixed team event.
She had managed to win a silver medal in women’s singles in 2018. Apart from this, he had won bronze in 2014. Sindhu also has two Olympic medals to her name. She won a silver medal in women’s singles in 2016 followed by bronze in Tokyo 2020.
