Imran Khan In No Fly List: The name of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has been put in the ‘no fly list’, due to which his escape routes have been closed. At the same time, Imran has now reacted to this step of the Government of Pakistan. Imran is tweeting- “I want to thank the government, because I am not even thinking of going abroad. And, I do not have any property or business abroad, which I can go from here.”
Imran also said that I will not need to go abroad. Yes, whenever I get a chance to take a vacation, I will definitely go to the northern mountains (POK)…that is my favorite place on earth.
Let us tell you that the Shahbaz Sharif-led Pak government has put the names of a total of 600 people, including opposition leader Imran Khan, in the ‘no fly list’. Imran Khan is the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, which was in power from 2018 to April 2022. Imran was evicted from power, so he could not complete his term. After snatching the post of Prime Minister, Imran had accused many officers of Pakistan Army, including General Bajwa, of conspiracy. Along with this, Imran had started taking out rallies across the country to connect people with him. He kept on targeting the government and due to the ruckus of his supporters, his opponents kept filing cases against him.
About 140 cases have been registered including the Anti Terrorism Act.
Now the sword of arrest is hanging on Imran in many cases and on May 9, he was arrested in the Al Qadir Trust case. He was later released after 48 hours on the orders of the Supreme Court. So far, about 140 cases including the Anti Terrorism Act have been registered against him in Pakistan.
The Pakistani army has considered Imran and his close leaders as the mastermind of the May 9 violence, after which Imran’s chances of survival are slim. Imran himself has said that the biggest threat to him is from Army Chief General Asim Munir. On the other hand, Munir also said that we will neither forget nor let them forget those who attacked the army bases.
