National Games 2022: About 7000 athletes will participate in 36 sports, here…

For the first time, host Gujarat has not earmarked a single venue for the National Games. This year the Games will be held in six cities of Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 36th National Games in Ahmedabad, Gujarat today at 4.30 pm. The inaugural ceremony will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket stadium. On this occasion, PM Modi will address athletes from all corners of the country. Gujarat is hosting the National Games for the first time. About 7,000 athletes will participate in 36 different sporting events in this National Games, which will run from 29 September to 12 October. Some events have already started, while many sporting events will be played from Friday.

When will the National Games 2022 start in India?
The National Games is being held after a long gap of seven years. The event technically began with a table tennis competition, which was held from 20 to 24 September.
Which cities of Gujarat are hosting this event?
The Games will be held in six cities of Gujarat- Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Bhavnagar. However, the track cycling event will take place at the Velodrome in Delhi.
When was the last time the National Games were held?
The last edition of the National Games was held in Kerala in 2015. Goa was to host the next National Games in 2016, but the event kept getting postponed due to logistical reasons.
What are the events in this edition of the National Games?
Around 7000 athletes from 28 states and eight union territories as well as sports teams from the Indian Armed Forces will also participate in the National Games. In total there are 36 sporting events.
