Karnataka-born Chandra Arya himself has shared this video on Twitter. Sharing this video on Twitter, he wrote that this is the first time that Kannada has been spoken in any parliament of the world. Let us tell you that Chandra Arya ended his speech in Kannada in the Parliament of Canada with a poem by Kuvempu. Which was sung in a song by Dr Rajkumar.
Sharing his video, Chandra Arya wrote on Twitter that for the first time I spoke in my mother tongue Kannada in the Parliament of Canada. This very beautiful language has a long history. Which is spoken by about 5 people around the world. Arya further wrote in his tweet that this is the first time that Kannada language has been spoken in any Parliament of the world outside India.
Mr Arya, who represents the electoral district of Nepean, Ontario, in Canada’s lower house of the House of Commons, tweeted a video of his address saying, “I am glad I have the opportunity to speak in my mother tongue, Kannada. It is a matter of pride for 5 crore Kannada people that, someone coming from Sira taluka of Tumukuru district, is speaking in Kannada after being elected to the Parliament of Canada.

Karnataka Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwanarayana expressed his gratitude to Chandra Arya by sharing this video. Sharing the video, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala thanked Chandra Arya for making India and Karnataka proud. Randeep Surjewala tweeted, “Salute to the son of Tumkut of Karnataka.”

Who is Chandra Arya?
Chandra Arya hails from Tumkut district, about 70 km from Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. He was elected to parliament in the 2019 general election as a Liberal Party candidate. He worked in the high-technology sector after completing his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Dharwad, Karnataka.
