“Well explained, now I will hit you badly”, Bhaijaan (Salman Khan) delivers these dialogues to the goons standing in front and then an introductory action sequence ensues, where he licks the dust of several dreadlocks one after the other. Only a few bones crackle, some break their necks, and some simply die fighting. Salman Khan’s film, released on the occasion of Eid, is being touted as an action-family entertainer. Well, how much the film impresses with its action, and how much it entertains with its drama.. they know ahead.
Bhaijaan (Salman Khan) is the messiah of the whole locality. An MLA (Vijendra Singh) wants to grab the land of that locality, but all his tricks fail in front of Bhaijaan. Bhaijaan lives with his three brothers and spends his life on them. He is strongly against the marriage as he feels that the presence of a girl in his life will create distance between the brothers. But he doesn’t know that girls have already entered his brothers’ lives. In such a situation, the three brothers search for a girl for their brother and they encounter Bhagyalakshmi (Pooja Hegde). Soon Bhaijaan and Bhagyalakshmi also fall in love, but Bhagyalakshmi and her family are non-violent. Disguising his real self, Bhaijaan reaches Hyderabad to meet the girl’s brother (Venkatesh) and the rest of the family. But there are some such incidents that Bhaijaan has to come in his true form soon. In such a situation, will Bhagyalakshmi’s family accept their relationship or not? Or are there some deep secrets hidden in their family? The rest of the story revolves around this.
In the character of Bhaijaan, Salman Khan has shown all that his fans like to see from him. He has style, swag, shirtless scenes and a lot of action. Some action sequences filmed on Salman Khan impress. But one thing that does not reach the heart is his love story with Pooja Hegde. Pooja Hegde has also done justice to her character. But in the case of romance, this pair misses. It is interesting to watch Venkatesh on the big screen. Raghav Juyal, Jassi Gill, Siddharth Nigam are fine in their roles. But the character of Bhumika Chawla, Shahnaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Vinali Bhatnagar is not even remembered. The writing is lacking here. There is no depth to any character in the film. Jagapati Babu has done a great job in negative characters, while Vijendra Singh looks weak.
direction and technical side
The weak side of the film is the direction and dialogues by Farhad Samji. There is no depth in the dialogues of the film. Because of which no connection is felt with the love story, which is an important part of the film. Whereas, most of Farhad Samji’s punches don’t work. Ravi Basrur has given the background score of the film, which is a positive thing in the film. V Manikandan’s cinematography is also good and gives a grand feel to the film.
In terms of songs, the film feels like a festival. The special thing is that all the songs are original. So, there remains some interest. Although the songs have nothing to do with the story. Songs like Catti Catti and O Balle Balle look good on screen. The songs of the film have been composed by Himesh Reshammiya, Sajid Khan, Sukhbir, Payal Dev, Devi Sri Prasad, Ravi Basrur and Amaal Malik.
The Salman Khan starrer multistarrer is full of action, family drama, a little bit of emotion, but one thing it lacks..that is a ‘good story’. The screenplay of the film is loose, due to which it looks scattered on many occasions. But still, an attempt has been made to put everything here, which can make Eid special for Salman Khan fans. 3 stars for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan from Filmbeat.
