“Do you arrange marriages, do you also arrange dis-arrangements?” Dimple asks her wedding planner Jogi and it is from here that the plot of the film is made. It is a different and fun experience watching Nawazuddin Siddiqui in such a light hearted avatar, especially when he is seen dancing on screen. At the same time, Sanjay Mishra’s mere presence elevates the film.
Jogi Pratap (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is a wedding planner living with his mother, aunt and 4 sisters. The one who gets others married by playing jugaad, but he himself has taken a vow that he will never marry. In such a situation, Jogi meets Dimple Chaubey (Neha Sharma) at a wedding in Bareilly. At the wedding where Jogi is the wedding planner, Dimple barges in as an uninvited guest and creates a lot of ruckus. Obviously.. Jogi remembers this meeting. After several days, the task of planning another marriage comes to him. It is revealed that this is Dimple’s marriage only. Later the girl tells him that she should not do this marriage, and she asks Jogi to dis-arrange the marriage instead of arranging it. Bhagambhaag begins from here. Jogi’s friend Manu (Rohit Chowdhary), the city’s famous criminal Chowdhary (Sanjay Mishra) and two policemen (Vishwanath Chatterjee and Ghanshyam Garg) also come under attack in this escape planning. Now whether Dimple’s marriage gets broken or not .. the rest of the story revolves around this.
We are so used to seeing Nawazuddin in offbeat characters that it feels different to see him playing the role of a common man. He tries to bring a freshness in the character of Jogi and is successful to some extent. Neha Sharma looks confident in her role and her comic timing goes well with Nawaz. However, his character could have been given a little more depth. Mahaakshay Chakraborty aka Mimoh is fine as a Lallu groom. But the one who gives a height to the film is Sanjay Mishra. Can say that he is the best part of this film. Rohit Chowdhary has also done a great job in the role of Nawaz’s friend.
direction and technical side
Director Kushan Nandy has kept the entire film light-hearted. He did not try to complicate the story too much or to fill emotions.. and perhaps this works in favor of the film. Let me tell you, earlier Kushan and Nawazuddin have worked together in the film ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’. The music and camera work of the film is average. The story of the film is written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali, who has consistently maintained the tone of the film. Some of the witty dialogues are very fresh, which leaves a smile on your face and you walk out of the theater with that smile.
On the whole, ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ offers nothing new to its viewers. But it definitely succeeds in entertaining for two hours, so it is worth giving it a chance. 2.5 stars to Jogira Sara Ra Ra from Filmbeat.
