The company had told a few days ago that it has started production of the Jeep Meridian SUV in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. The Deep Meridian has been built on the platform of the Jeep Compass. However, it is far better than the Compass in terms of space, seating and features.
The new Jeep Meridian is 41 mm wider and 48 mm higher than the Jeep Compass. Its wheelbase is also 146 mm longer than that of the Compass. The new Jeep Meridian SUV is also quite attractive in terms of design. The SUV comes with the signature 7-slat grille, LED DRLs and integrated LED projector headlamps.
Apart from this, the car also gets LED fog lamps, panoramic sunroof, LED taillight and new 18-inch dual tone diamond cut alloy wheels. Talking about the features, it gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with U-Connect 5, Connected Car Technology and 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Apart from this, the company has also included features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 9-speaker high-definition surround sound system, automatic AC with vents for second and third row, front row ventilated and power adjustable seats.
Apart from this, it also gets dual zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging and 360 degree parking camera. The interior body panels and color tones of the Jeep Meridian are all new and are inspired by the Grand Cherokee.
In terms of safety, the new Jeep Meridian gets 360 degree camera, wireless charging, ABS with EBD, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), electronic parking brake, traction control, 6 airbags, seat belt reminder, rear parking sensors, rear camera, hill Features like start assist are available.
Coming to the engine, the Jeep Meridian is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that also powers the Jeep Compass. The company has not disclosed the power and torque figures, but according to the information, this engine generates 170 bhp power and 350 newton meter torque.
