Indian Stock Market Closes In Red Due To Profit Booking In Banking Stocks

Stock Market Closing On 24th May 2023: In the third trading session of the current week, the Indian stock market closed with a decline. The market closed down due to profit booking by investors, especially in banking stocks. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed down by 208 points at 61,773, while the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed down by 62 points at 18,285 points.

In today’s business, there has been a decline in the stocks of the banking sector. Bank Nifty closed with a decline. Bank Nifty has seen a decline of 276 points or 0.63 per cent. Apart from this, there has been a decline in the shares of metals, infra, commodity sector. While the shares of IT, Auto, FMCG, Energy, Pharma, Consumer Durables, Healthcare sectors have seen a rise. The Midcap and Smallcap indices have closed with gains.

In today’s trade, Sun Pharma closed with a gain of 1.96 per cent, ITC 1.07 per cent, IndusInd Bank 1.13 per cent, Titan Company 1.05 per cent, Power Grid 0.88 per cent, Maruti Suzuki 0.77 per cent. And Tata Motors closed down by 1.49 per cent, HDFC Bank by 1.33 per cent, HDFC by 1.23 per cent, Bajaj Finserv by 0.73 per cent.

In today’s trading session, investors have suffered losses due to the fall in the market. The market cap of companies listed on BSE came down to Rs 279.55 lakh crore, which was Rs 279.78 lakh crore on Tuesday. That is, there has been a decrease of Rs 23000 crore in the wealth of the investors in today’s trade.
