Aruna Miller: Hyderabad-born Aruna Miller has created history. She created history by becoming the first Indian-American politician to be elected as the lieutenant governor of the US state of Maryland. Miller was sworn in as the state’s 10th lieutenant governor on Wednesday. Miller is 58 years old. In an opening speech, he credited his success to his family, who immigrated to the United States from India.

He told that his father is a mechanical engineer and he was the first person to come to America as a student in the late 1960s. She told that she came to the country in 1972 at the age of 7. According to a report in the Washington Post, his father was an IBM engineer. She was part of a historic Democratic ticket that cruised to victory in November last year.

Miller has served two terms in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2010 to 2018. During his swearing-in ceremony, an emotional Miller shared the story of his arrival from India and his first day of school. He told that none of them looked like me. Miller told that when she went to the school cafeteria, she also started doing the same thing everyone was doing. He told that he ate American food for the first time. Along with this, he drank cold milk for the first time in his life. Miller said she was feeling great. She said she thought everything was fine, but when she and her friends returned to class, she vomited on the desk. After which he was feeling very bad.

Miller said that his teacher called his mother who went to pick him up. She started insisting on her mother that she had to go back to her grandmother who raised her in India.

From 2010 to 2018, he represented District 15 in the Maryland House of Delegates. After becoming a citizen of the country in 2000, she voted in the US presidential election for the first time.
