Global Terrorism Index Report Afghanistan On Top Most Impacted Country In…

Pakistan GTI Rank: According to Afghanistan-based Khama Press, the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) reported on Tuesday (March 14) that a 75 per cent decline in attacks and 58 per cent decline in deaths was recorded in Afghanistan. Despite this, the country continues to top the list of countries most affected by terrorism for the fourth consecutive year.

However, the GTI report states that the index does not include state repression and acts of violence by leaders. For example, the acts done by the Taliban are no longer included in the scope of the report because they have taken control of the country. According to FTI, 633 deaths were recorded in Afghanistan in 2022, which is 866 less in terrorism-related deaths in 2022. At the same time, there was an improvement of 58 percent as compared to the year 2021.

Islamic State-Khorasan responsible for the attack

According to the Global Terrorism Index, the Islamic State-Khorasan (DAS) has emerged as the most active terrorist group in Afghanistan after the Taliban took over the country. The Islamic State-Khorasan has been held responsible for 422 deaths in the country in the year 2022, accounting for 67 percent of the total deaths.

Recently, one person was killed and eight others were injured in a bomb blast at a Shia cultural center in Afghanistan’s northern Balkh province on Saturday (March 11). Waziri said that the injured included five journalists and three children. Provincial officials and clerics were also among the guests in the religious program. Pakistan is at number 6 in this list, while India, US are at number 13 and 30 respectively. At the same time, China is not included in the list.
