The Indian men’s football team will be on the field for the first time since the 2023 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers held in Kolkata in June 2022. The Indian team will tour Vietnam for two friendly matches. There the team will play two matches on 24 and 27 September. The Indian team will play against Vietnam first and then Singapore in the Hung Thinh friendly football tournament.
These friendly matches have been planned keeping in mind the preparations for the team’s campaign in the upcoming Asian Cup. The Asian Cup will be organized next year. The 23-member team is commanded by veteran Sunil Chhetri. Talking about the FIFA rankings, the hosting Vietnam is at 97th place. They are the highest ranked team in the tournament. India is ranked 104th and Singapore 159th.
