Belgium, ranked second in the FIFA rankings, were knocked out of the ongoing Football World Cup in Qatar. He was held to a 0-0 draw by Croatia in Group-F. Belgium needed a win anyway and at least a draw to advance. The Belgian team reached the semi-finals of the World Cup last year. There he was defeated by France. Belgium then defeated England 2–0 in the third-place match.
The Belgian team boasts a host of star players including captain Eden Hazard, one of the best midfielders in the world, Kevin de Bruyne, star striker Romelu Lukaku and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. For this reason this team was called the ‘Golden Generation’ in Belgian football history. Romelu Lukaku, a member of the same Golden Generation, made many mistakes in this match. They missed three easy chances to score. This ‘Golden Generation’ team of Belgium has come of age. This was accepted by Kevin de Bruyne himself. Many of these players will not be seen in the next World Cup.
It was Belgium star footballer Romelu Lukaku who squandered four really easy chances to score in the second half, crying bitterly in the arms of assistant coach Thierry Henry after the match. Lukaku could not put the ball into the empty goal on three occasions. For the first time since 1998, Belgium failed to pass the group stage barrier.

Kramrich was brought down in the box by Carrasco on Modrich’s free kick. The referee gave the penalty. Modric also reached to take the penalty and goalkeeper Kortva was also ready, but Varr intervened and showed Lovren lightly offside, and the referee reversed the penalty decision. Croatian players also protested.
Lukaku missed easy chances

Belgium knew they had to win at all costs if they wanted to reach the knockout stage. In the 60th minute, Carrasco aimed right in front of the goal and the ball hit the goalkeeper and reached Lukaku. He just had to put the ball in the goal but his kick hit the bar and went out. His header went wide of the empty goal in the 62nd minute.
In the 87th minute, he received an excellent pass on the goal line, but could not trap it properly. All he had to do was guide the ball towards the goal. In the 90th minute, he could not trap the cross in front of an empty goal. Lukaku knew that the team pays for his mistakes. He also slammed his hand in the dugout in anger. Belgium had defeated Croatia in the last two international matches. In these, all three goals of victory were scored by Lukaku.

After losing to Morocco, there were violent incidents in Belgium. If media reports are to be believed then there were infighting in the Belgian camp as well, which cost the team on the field.
