Dhanteras (Dhanteras 2023) – 10 November 2023

The festival of Dhanteras is celebrated on the Trayodashi date of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Kartik. From this day the 5-day festival of Diwali starts. Lord Dhanvantari, considered the father of Ayurveda, is worshiped on Dhanteras. This day is considered very auspicious for buying gold, silver, vehicles etc. On Dhanteras, lamps are lit in the name of Yama in the evening.

Narak Chaturdashi 2023 – 12 November 2023

Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month is known as Narak Chaturdashi and Roop Chaudas. On this day, there is a ritual to enhance the appearance by taking a bath with rubbing. According to mythological belief, this Krishna had killed Narakasura.

Due to difference in calendar, Narak Chaturdashi and Diwali festival will be celebrated on the same day like in 2022. Mahalakshmi is worshiped in the evening on Diwali.

Govardhan Puja (Goverdhan puja 2023) – 14 November 2023

Govardhan Puja takes place on Pratipada date of Kartik month. Next year, this date is starting on 13 November 2023 at 02:56 pm and will end on 14 November 2023 at 02:36 pm. According to Udayatithi, Annakoot and Govardhan Puja will be celebrated on 14th November.

Bhai Dooj 2023 – 14 November 2023

Bhai Dooj is celebrated two days after Diwali i.e. on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This day is a symbol of brother-sister love. On Bhai Dooj, sister applies Tilak to her brother and wishes for his long life.
