India’s star wrestler Bajrang Punia was also given a grand welcome at the airport. People carried him on their shoulders. Bajrang has won the gold medal in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. He defeated Canadian wrestler Lachlan 9-2 in the final in the 65 kg wrestling category. This is Bajrang’s third consecutive medal and second consecutive gold at the Commonwealth Games. Earlier he had won silver at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, gold at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. At the same time, once again he has won gold in Birmingham. When Bajrang arrived to collect the gold medal, he had tears in his eyes during the national anthem.
