Jeremy, who lives in Aizawl, Mizoram, considers this medal special. His father Lalnethulanga has won two medals in national boxing. As a child, Jeremy used to do boxing but later became attracted by weightlifting, due to which his father put Jeremy in a local weightlifting centre. Initially, Jeremy used to practice weightlifting with bamboo and pipe.
left home at the age of eight
19-year-old Jeremy was selected in the Army Boys Center Pune in 2011 and moved to Pune. From here his life changed. In 2016 he won silver at the World Junior Championships. His brother got married in 2017, but he could not go home. He loves the food of mother’s hand, but he adopted the food of North India at NIS Patiala for weightlifting. For the last five years, he did not celebrate Christmas with the family.
