India’s Tulika Mann has missed out on a gold medal in the +78 kg weight category in Judo. She was defeated by Sarah Adlington of Scotland in the final against Ippon. In this way, Tulika had to be content with the silver medal. There are three types of scoring in Judo. It is called ippon, waza-ari and yuko. Ippon occurs when a player throws to the player in front and does not allow him to rise. A full point is awarded when it is fired and the player wins. Sara won in a similar way in the semi-finals.
Earlier, Tulika had also scored a point with a waza-aari. If the throw is done with less force, it is called a vaza-ari. Half a point is given in this. A player gets a full point for twice a waza-ari and that player becomes the winner. However, Sara won the match by eppon before Tulika could try Waza-Aari or Ippon for the second time. Sara won the match against Ippon in the last minute.
