India’s pair of Sathiyan, Sharath Kamal and Harmeet did an amazing job in the final. This was India’s first medal in table tennis at the Commonwealth Games 2022. How India beat Singapore
In the team match of five matches, the first match was between Harmeet Desai and Sathiyan. In front of these two were the pair of Young Isaac and Yew Inn of Singapore. The Indian pair won the match by a margin of 13-11, 11-7, 11-5 and gave India a winning start. With this, India went 1-0 up in the match. The second match in this match was between Sharath Kamal Achanta and Zhe Yu Clarence. In this match, there was a tough fight between the two players, but in the end, Sharath had to face defeat. They lost the match by a margin of 7-11, 14-12, 3-11, 9-11. With this, Singapore leveled the match 1-1. In the third match, Sathiyan got India back in a spectacular fashion. He defeated Yev Ann Koen by a margin of 3-1. The score of this match was 12-10, 7-11, 11-7, 11-4. With the victory in this match, India took a 2-1 lead in the match. In the fourth match, Harmeet Desai faced Jhe Yu Clarence. Harmeet registered a one-sided victory in this match and won the match 3-0. The score of this match was 11-8, 11-5, 11-6. With this, India took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the match and won the gold medal.
