China Starts Military Exercise In South China Sea Before American President Joe Biden Visit In Asia

Chinese Military Exercise: China is conducting military exercises in the disputed South China Sea during the visit of US President Joe Biden to South Korea and Japan. His visit is largely focused on countering the potential threat from China.

The Chinese Maritime Security Administration office in the southern island of Henan province said the exercise, which began on Thursday, will last until Monday. It said other aircraft and ships would be prohibited from entering the area, but did not give details. China claims the South China Sea and the crucial sea route has become a potential point of conflict in Asia.

America’s sovereignty at stake

The US has not taken a stand on the issue of sovereignty but insists on free movement at sea and moving warships near militarized islands held by China in that region. He calls it freedom of navigation.

China regularly describes such missions as deliberately provocative actions. He says that this endangers peace and stability.

India’s PM will also visit Japan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Japan to attend the quad countries meeting to be held in Tokyo. Modi will personally attend the Quad summit for the second time. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said on Thursday that Modi will also hold bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
