Commonwealth Games gold medalist Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen on Tuesday dropped out of the top-20 in the world rankings. Uttarakhand’s Lakshya has lost six places in the world rankings and has slipped to 25th position.
Recently, the 21-year-old Lakshya was ousted in the second round of the All England Championship which cost him in the rankings. In November last year, Lakshya achieved his career-best ranking. He was in sixth place.
Apart from this, his performance in Malaysia Open, India Open and German Open was also not good and he was also out early. Last year, Sen was in excellent form. He won the India Open and also made it to the finals of Germany and All England Championships.
Among women, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu remained static at ninth, while Saina Nehwal dropped five places to be ranked 32nd.
