Tara Rani Srivastava played an important role in getting India’s independence from the British. Although not many people know his name in Indian history. Tara Rani Srivastava was born in Saran district of Bihar. At an early age, Tara Rani was married to a man named Phulendu Babu.

At a very young age, Tara Rani got involved in the freedom struggle. Her husband Phulendu Babu was a freedom fighter and a follower of Gandhiji. He used to take out processions against the British rule. From here Tara Rani also started registering her participation in the freedom struggle. At that time there were many restrictions on married women, but Tara Rani not only participated in the freedom movement by leaving the house, but also encouraged other women to join this struggle.
