Wrestlers protesting against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh have met Home Minister Amit Shah. According to information received from sources, this meeting lasted for about one and a half hours at Amit Shah’s residence. According to media reports, the two sides met at around 11 pm on Saturday night. Amit Shah has met the wrestlers when the Khap Panchayats have given an ultimatum to the Center till June 9.
According to media reports, the wrestlers have demanded the arrest of former WFI president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh from Amit Shah. After this, the Home Minister assured a complete investigation without any discrimination against the wrestlers. According to sources, it was the wrestlers who had asked for an appointment with Amit Shah. Amit Shah said that the law will take its own course in this matter. The Police is investigating. He also asked the wrestlers whether the police should not be given time to do their work.
On Sunday, Olympian Sakshi Malik’s mother Sudesh Malik claimed in a conversation with Amar Ujala that Sakshi, Vinesh and Bajrang met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday night. In the meeting of about one to one and a half hours, the Home Minister asked the three players to act sensibly instead of enthusiasm.
Sudesh Malik told that Shah, while convincing the wrestlers to end the agitation, said that no action would be taken against any player. During the meeting, the wrestlers insisted on the arrest of Brij Bhushan. To this Shah said, any action will be taken under the legal process.
After this, Bajrang Poonia reached Mundlana Panchayat located in Sonepat on Sunday and called that no decision should be taken today. He said that soon a big panchayat would be convened by bringing all the organizations on one platform. A decision will be taken in this regard in three-four days. Then everyone will be informed about the place and time of the Panchayat. The next decision will be taken in this panchayat.
Will action be taken against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh?
Now its signs are visible. There are two views in BJP also. Now there are very few leaders in BJP who sympathize with Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. There is a growing number of people who believe that some action should be taken on the complaint of the wrestlers. A senior BJP leader said that Brij Bhushan should not appear in the media like this. Brij Bhushan is not even giving an opportunity to pacify the matter. They should not try to pressurize them to hold a rally in Ayodhya on 5th June. It would have been better to have kept calm for a few days. Information and Broadcasting and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur also gave similar indications.
